1st Wallington Scout Group was formed in March 1908 (although not continously known as 1st Wallington).
The 1st Wallington Cub Pack was formed in 1916. The Group is very fortunate to have its own Headquarters in Ruskin Road, Carshalton.
1st Wallington has been at the forefront of Scouting being the first in the old Wallington and Cashalton District to:-

• - Form a Venture Scout Unit (1967 when Ventures replaced Rover Scouts and Senior Scouts)
• - Form the first Beaver Colony in 1983
• - Admit Girls to all sections (1990)
• - Form the new Explorer Section replacing Ventures (Autumn 2000)
• - Be awarded the County Commissioner's Standard, showing that we run the Group in a safe and efficient manner (Spring 2002)

Thames Community Foundation

Over the last year or so you will probably have noticed various works being carried out on the roof of our Scout Hall - firstly some emergency repairs and then the re-sealing of one side of the sloping roof.

We have now been fortunate enough to receive a Grassroots Grant from the Thames Community Foundation for the second phase of these works - the re-sealing of the East side of the roof. Weather permitting, work will starting shortly and we hope it will be completed before the winter. When all the work is completed, the roof should be watertight for 10-15 years.
